Message from the R.W. District Grand Master

Mathew Joseph, District Grand Lodge of Madras

Dear Brethren,

It gives me great joy to extend to you my fraternal greetings and to warmly invite you to the Annual Investiture of the District Grand Lodge of Madras, to be held at Trivandrum on the 13th and 14th of February 2026.

This Annual Investiture is always a special occasion — a time when we come together as one family, to celebrate our shared journey in Freemasonry, to honour those entrusted with new responsibilities, and to renew our commitment to the values and ideals that bind us as brethren.

Beyond the formal proceedings, Trivandrum itself has much to offer. As the capital of Kerala, it is a city that blends spirituality, culture, and natural beauty. You may wish to visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, renowned across the world for its sanctity; relax on the golden sands of Kovalam Beach or explore the Napier Museum and Zoo, set amidst lush greenery. And of course, you cannot leave Kerala without enjoying its famed cuisine — from fluffy appams to the freshest seafood, it is truly a feast for the senses.

I would particularly encourage you to bring along your families. Trivandrum offers a delightful experience for our Ladies as well, making this not just a Masonic event but a weekend of fellowship, learning, and cherished memories for all.

Brethren, I look forward to welcoming each one of you in Trivandrum, and to once again standing together as we Aspire to Inspire!

Thank you.

R.W. Bro. Mathew Joseph

Fraternal regards,

Ceremonial Highlights

The proceedings commence with a cordial welcome to visiting brethren and distinguished dignitaries, followed by the solemn and dignified Roll Call of Lodges. This is succeeded by the formal opening of the District Grand Lodge by the District Grand Master.

The ceremonial highlight of the day is the Investiture of District Grand Officers — including the Deputy and Assistant District Grand Master, District Grand Wardens, Chaplain, Secretaries, Directors of Ceremonies, and other esteemed officers.

The ceremony unfolds with traditional pageantry, rich Masonic symbolism, and ritual — reflecting the enduring heritage of Freemasonry under the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE). Toasts, responses, and light entertainment add to the joy of the gathering, reinforcing the values of equality, respect, and mutual support.
